Folk Damaru from Nepal are wooden hand drums. Their leather lacings have knotted straps whichÿ beat the two heads alternately when the hand is twisted back and forth.. Pitch changes by squeezing the lacing. The damaru is played by the Hindu god Shiva when he dances the world into creation.
